errant_janeToday what I am doing is rewatching S2 of Supernatural. (Oh, Dean!) And waiting for my coworker to email me and tell me she's finished S4 so that we can spazz like spazzy spazzy fangirls.
In the meantime, it's interesting watching the show thorough the lens of S4. I'm really quite impressed at how consistent the earlier seasons are with the current mythology of the show. And now what I kind of want to do is go back and write a bunch of stories from Castiel's perspective. Like, Castiel has always been watching Dean.
Not really paying attention to who Dean is as a person, just making sure that everything happens as it is prophesied. He is standing on the stage with Rev. Roy Le Grange when he "heals" Dean. He is the one who influenced Rev. Le Grange to choose him. Castiel is the one who told him that God has a plan for Dean Winchester.
Castiel has read all the writings by the prophet. Doesn't know what the ultimate plan is yet. Doesn't know that in a couple of years, he will pull Dean out of Hell. All he has been told is that Dean has a higher purpose, and he is the one who needs to make sure that Dean continues down the right path.
It is only after Castiel is actually stationed on earth, starts talking to his charge that he really thinks about the past few decades that he has been acting as the man's guardian. And, the thing is, Castiel knows Dean. Knows everything about him. It's his job, after all. But when he thinks back on everything that has happened to shape the man and starts to care, Castiel knows he's in trouble.
Something along those lines, anyway. Instead? I may or may not be writing, um, this? IDK. There is a reason it's called crackfic? And Kassiepants is totally my dealer.
