Well, I made it home (to my parents') okay, despite horribly bumpy flights last night that made me feel barfy. It is a good thing I am not a nervous flier for sure. The weather here is beautiful and mild (despite my mom's protestations that it's hot. Ha!) and right now it is raining out which will make for good sleeps.

I am so very glad to be on vacation. It is good to be home, to get to hang out with my parents, to be away from work for awhile. Today I ate lots of nommy sushi for lunch and then we had lobster for dinner. I feel like I may have to buy clothes to wear home, because, man, I plan to do much eating while I am here. There are just some things you can't get in TN.

Also, my parents are very adorable and endearing. Not to say that our relationship is always sunshine and roses and unicorns, but we get on pretty well (once I learned how to pick my battles and fight them cleverly) and I enjoy spending time with them. They are quite silly and they make me laugh on a regular basis. I feel quite lucky and pleased that they are my parents. ♥

In other news, I must say that I am officially a fan of podfic. Most brilliant thing ever!! My new goal in life is to get my stories to a caliber where they would be worth recording in such a fashion (not by me, of course. I find the sound of my recorded voice to be completely horrifying). Srsly, I am completely smitten with this whole concept.

Now is sleepy times for me, I think. Yay vacation!!!

Hai thar! So what state are you in now? Also I am full of envy for lobster dinner (and happy families).

I adore podfic - I hope you've found the amazing multi fandom podfic archive (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/). by jinjurly - it will keep you going for years! I would love to record some fic (I have a background in doing spoken word stuff) but too many people find Sam and Dean with an Aussie accent offputting!

NONOONOOOO! READER ACCENTS SHOULD NOT DETER ONE FROM RECORDING FIC!!!!! Generally I don't capslock at people I don't know, but I actually feel this point very strongly. (And you've a background in spoken word stuff? That's awesome!)

So this is my vote for recording stuff.

I am in Washington! The Evergreen State!

I did find the archive!!! I am now trying to think of all the things I can do whilst listening to fics!!

Also, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] fish_echo's comment. Man, if you can do voice stuff, you totally should!! Their cadence is way more important than the accent. Also, if we listened to everything people bitched about in fandom, nobody would write anything ever. So I guess that's my vote for recording stuff as well. *grins*

Aww!! Thank you! Maybe when I complete Mishafic, I will edit the hell out of it and then see if I can bribe someone into recording it...

Yay for away from work! I'm so glad you're having a good time, though work is srsly the suck without the distraction.

You so deserve it though.

VACAYAY!!!

I prefer "entertainment" to "distraction". It is much more complimentary, I think.

I miss you, too! It is rainy here today and, in a crazy turn of events, cool. Temperature-wise. It's like the rain makes things colder instead of muggier.

Wow, what kind of crazy ass rain is that?

The new guy at work is cute, smart and has a super cute girlfriend who I already love. Also he was born 11 miles from where I was born!

Aww, I feel loved!! *g* Thank you!! I am taking full advantage! For lunch we are having good Chinese foods. In some ways, vacation is like food porn.

I will change teh concept in my head. Fo sho!

You drive me crazy with your food mockery. I say. But I am home and alive and have two days of freedom and apparently some Dean/Castiel humping on the hood of the Impala to write.

So'm yeah. I'm good here.

Still can't wait 'til you're back.
