At first I thought this was going to be about the neural hippocampus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocampus), and the fic-related possibilities of Sam, like, distracting Cerberus by feeding it his own hippocampus so he can bust out of hell and so now he doesn't ~remember~ Dean or what they've been through and Dean is sad and at some point there is kissing and somehow that fixes Sam's memory right up.

... I don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed that that is not the hippocampus you were talking about?
